Serial ATA (SATA) is the new standard for coming PC systems! With this new transmission technique transmission rates of 150MByte/s (later even 600MB/s!!) are possible. The maximum cable length for this standard is 1m.

All ATA and ATAPI devices, like harddisks, CD-drives. DVD-drives etc. are supported.

Plugs are coded, so a wrong polarity is impossible. There is no need for jumpers or terminators because ther eis only one device on each cable. Devices can be hot plugged.
