With a wing span of up to 2.6 metres, Griffon Vultures are mighty birds. As with many other species of vultures, they do not have a good standing from our human point of view. This is obviously due to their very exceptional appearance, with their long and naked necks and that, they are scavengers.
This means they solely eat carrion of animals that died before. Once a Griffon Vulture has spotted a cadaver, soon plenty of fellow vultures gather and won’t cease their feast until only the animal’s bare bones are left. Thus they act as the “clean-up police” of the animal kingdom.
